Hi there and welcome to the first weekly news update on my evergreen blog. All the environmental news you need to know.
Every week in the news, I want to put a different eco-conscious company in the spotlight and this week it will be LUSH. Lush is a cosmetics company that produces everything eco consciously. They have a whole range of 'Naked' products, meaning that they are zero waste. The zero-waste line ranges from shower gel to face wash and is definitely worth checking out. The lush store is like a rainbow of colors and smells and even just a trip to your local lush is worth the experience. All lush products are cruelty-free. This is the link to their website https://www.lushusa.com/
Good News
I like to start with the good news so that's just what I am going to do. I would like to start off with a startup called Solein. https://solarfoods.fi/ And I are very excited about what they are doing. Which is literally taking food out of thin air. It is truly amazing. Solein was invented by solar foods and is based on a concept from NASA. And their protein is made of water, electricity, and CO2.
Bad News
Sadly things are not looking bright for the amazon rainforest since it has been burning for three weeks now and is only now being paid attention too. The information I got off CNN https://edition.cnn.com/2019/08/22/americas/amazon-fires-humans-intl-hnk-trnd/index.html says that the environmental minister claims the fires were caused by dry weather, lightning strikes and wind. Although on the other hand Meteorologist Haley Brink says that were "definitely human-induced" I think it is horrible that the 'lungs of the earth' are burning down slowly. For more info check out the CNN link.

Charity
I think the best charities to donate to this week are anything related to the Amazon rainforest since it is a problem with very large consequences that need more support. Business Insider (https://www.businessinsider.nl/how-to-help-amazon-rainforest-what-charities-to-donate-to-2019?international=true&r=US) says that these are the best charities to donate too:
