This post is going to be different from my previous posts so I hope you like it!
- This tip also links in with the previous one, carpooling. Do you really need to drive somewhere like a party or match, then send a text to everyone else who is going to go and see who you can drive. Always take up an offer to carpool.
- The first one is really simple and easy, TURN OF THE LIGHTS. It's so little effort yet it can make such a big difference.
- Use a reusable water bottle, buying water in a bottle that will just be thrown away is so pointless. Use a reusable one. (Bonus: You can choose the one you like, I have a yellow Dopper. )
- Use a reusable cup, I don't have one of these since I just drink the water from my bottle. But if you like getting coffee or other drinks, I would recommend permanently having one of these in your bag. You also have foldable variants that take up less space.
- Become a vegetarian, or at least limit your meat. I am vegetarian and eat vegan at least twice a week, so all recipes on my blog are vegetarian if you need any inspiration.
- Reuse old containers. Keep jars, baskets, shower gel bottles and anything else. You never know when you can use it or upcycle it.
- Limit your car rides, before taking the car somewhere consider these questions; do I need to take the car? Is the car the fastest way? Can I bike there? Can I walk there? Is public transport available?
- Use a reusable straw, you have them in all material and sizes. Metal, bamboo or silicone whatever you find most comfortable in your mouth. You have wide ones for smoothies, short ones for wine and foldable ones for in your bag. They often come with a little cleaning brush making them easy to clean.
- Also, try and recycle as much as you can. In my household, we have a few crates, one for plastic, paper, and glass.
- Make crafts, if you want recycling to be more fun then make it more fun. On my blog, you can find Diy's to make and they are almost all made of recycled items.
- Store your food well, use bees wrap and airtight containers. That way they will last longer and less food will be wasted.
- This tip is also about food, don't buy more than you need. If you buy more than you need than you will be less likely to throw things away.
- Unplug your devices as soon as fully charged. Otherwise, energy will be wasted without even charging your device.
- Say no to freebies. If they are packaged in a bottle than you can take them and reuse the bottle for a travel bottle. But say no to stuff like this:
- Bring your own bags to every store. My family keeps a stash in the kitchen or you could have one near the door.
- Keep a foldable shopping bag in every backpack and purse. You will want to be prepared for every surprise shopping trip.
- Never buy a coffee/drink in a plastic cup. Bring your own when you know you will get a coffee and if you don't have one with you just don't drink a coffee.
- Try and use a bar of soap instead of a bottle.
- Only use what you need for sanitary products.
- Eat your leftovers!
- Buy from eco-conscious companies, like the ones I mention on my blog.
- Try and repair stuff you have instead of buying new things.
- Pick stuff that can last long.
- Eat with the seasons, that way less stuff has to be imported.
- Use bees wrap instead of cling wrap and aluminum foil. You can get these in many different stores and they are a great alternative.
- Switch to reusable cotton rounds, instead of disposable ones.
- Bring your own container to take home food from a restaurant instead of a doggy bag.
- Plan meals around what you already have. That way you can reduce food waste.
- Wrap gifts in scarfs, it looks nicer and reduces the paper you use. And the scarf can be part of the gift.
- Use rechargeable batteries, that way you don't have to throw away any.

I hope these tips help you, and please comment if you would like a part 2
