Good News

This week's good news will be all about the thing we have accomplished in the last 10 years

• There are 66,000 electric buses on the streets know spread over 40 cities, compared to the 100 in 2009
• 82 cities have cycle hire schemes, in comparison with the 13 in 2009
• 24 cities have plans for 100% renewable energy by 2030, compared to the 4 in 2009
• 17 cities have restrictions on vehicles which pollute a lot, in comparison to the 3 in 2009
• 18 cities have banned single-use plastic, in comparison to the 2 in 2009

Bad News

The bad news this year is something you will hear every year but yet it is something to consider. It is that time of the year again, SPOOKY time.  I personally love Halloween, but this holiday is really bad for the environment. 

• First of all, there is all the plastic wrapping from candy. 
• Treat bags are often disposed of after use. 
• There are disposable costumes, that you throw out after wearing
• The disposable decor is a big problem 
• And makeup often has toxics in it

Company

This week's company will be ZoZero, it is a dutch website so sorry for all your non-dutchies out there but I really like their products. They have 3 sections; Happy Home, Vet Verzorgd and Zo-to-go. They have all your needs for eco-friendly living. I am especially happy about this shop because it is hard to find eco-shops in the Netherlands. Link

Charity 

This weeks charity is the  Defenders of Wildlife, they have three main goals:

• Prevent species and their habitats from  being imperiled
• Protect endangered species and their habitats
• Restore the health of vulnerable species and their habitats
